user is supposed to only be able to edit an post

hello,

i need to restrict a user in so far, that he is only able to edit an existing, published post of another user. therefore, his user role has only checked those:

edit_others_posts
edit_posts
edit_published_posts

and in the user settings itself under Posts/Pages/Custom Post Types Editor Restrictions the id of the post with the option allow.

but this user is able to see comments and the contact 7 form in the admin menu as well. is it possible to restrict the user in so far that he can only see the posts menu item and nothing else? not even the admin dashboard?

Hi Oskar,

Excuse for a delay with answer – I had 2 weeks vacation.

It’s possible to hide/block unneeded admin menu items protected by the same capability which is required for a role using Admin menu access add-on.
