User with multiple roles with clashing view permissions.

Hi, I have Users with multiple roles, and Courses with multiple categories.
i.e a User is assigned “role-1”, a Course is assigned “category-1”.
I wan’t users with role-1 to be able to only view courses with category-1, and users with role-2 to only view courses with category-2 and so on.
I have gone to ‘Users > User Role Editor > Posts View’ and blocked the course categories to suit the above example. This works great!
The issue I’m having is, when a User is assigned role-1 AND role-2, NONE of the courses from category-1 or category-2 are showing which makes sense.
Is there anyway to have it so a user with multiple roles can see the content that’s blocked by their other role?

I don’t see such way. Only use a role copy which will not have content view restrictions.
